The instruction librarians at John M. Pfau Library have listed useful information literacy assignments according to their library instruction outcomes.  I especially like the assignments for Effective Searching, which offers a collaborative approach to keyword generation, and What Shapes Information, which looks at political and cultural issues surrounding the production and consumption of information.  I will be using these exercises next time I teach LIS 101.

See their suite of exercises here.
